Shooting near Marion Public Library under investigation

MARION - Marion police are investigating a shooting that happened Thursday night near the library.
According to a news release, officers responded to a report of a shooting near the Marion Public Library, 1095 Sixth Ave., around 11:55 p.m. Police located a man there suffering from a gunshot wound.
Marion Police Sgt. Phil Fort said everyone involved in the shooting has been interviewed by the police department, but there are no charges pending at this time.
'It's a unique circumstance that I think will come out eventually,” Fort said.
The man's injuries were non-life threatening and he is expected to recover, Fort said. The shooting remains under investigation and Fort emphasized there is no danger to the public.
