CEDAR RAPIDS - Scores of cats seized from a Cedar Rapids mobile home last week continued to be evaluated Monday.
Public safety spokesman Greg Buelow said Animal Care and Control workers were providing treatment to the cats taken Friday from a home in Summit View Village in southwest Cedar Rapids. The cats' owner has not been identified, but police said he voluntarily surrended the cats - in excess of 125 - to them.
Police said the cats will be evaluated to determine which are available for adoption. In the meantime, animal services is seeking monetary donations to help finance the continued care of the animals.
The situation is still under investigation, but police said the owner will not face any criminal charges.
