CEDAR RAPIDS - The second suspect in a robbery investigation has been arrested.
Cedar Rapids public safety spokesman Greg Buelow said 21-year-old Levi Crinigan, of Cedar Rapids, was arrested Thursday. He faces charges of second-degree robbery and second-degree theft.
Crinigan was wanted in connection with a robbery alleged to have occurred on Jan. 9.
Authorities said Crinigan and 22-year-old Austin Wiesenhofer were riding in a 1998 Dodge Ram with the 19-year-old victim. Police said the victim was driving and the other two men asked him to stop at Beverly Park around 3:30 a.m. and get out of the truck.
Police said Crinigan and Wiesenhofer assaulted the other man outside of the truck and then fled in his truck. The Linn County Sheriff's Office later found Wiesenhofer in the stolen truck in Walford. He was arrested at the time and charged with second-degree robbery and second-degree theft.
Second-degree robbery is a Class C felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison. Second-degree theft is a Class D felony punishable by up to five years in prison.
