Search underway for stolen car suspect near Waubeek

WAUBEEK — Linn County Sheriff's Office deputies are searching for a man who stole and wrecked a car.
Linn County Sheriff Brian Gardner said a vehicle was stolen from a residence on Otis Road on Sunday. Deputies were involved in a pursuit with that vehicle around 9:27 a.m. Monday. The driver wrecked the car on Bridgeout Road where it meets the Wapsipinicon River and fled on foot, Gardner said.
Deputies are now searching for the driver, Gardner said.
