Road rage incident leads to assault charge

IOWA CITY - An Iowa City man faces jail time over an alleged road rage incident.

According to an Iowa City police criminal complaint, around 8 a.m. Wednesday, 22-year-old Cory J. Remole was involved in a road rage incident with another driver while driving west on West Benton Street.

Police said during the incident, Remole placed an air soft pistol on the dash of his truck and pointed at the gun for the victim to see. Police said Remole's actions frightened the other driver, who was 'visibly shaken” by the incident.

Remole admitted to having an air soft pistol in his truck, police said. He faces one count of assault, a simple misdemeanor punishable by up to 30 days in jail.
