IOWA CITY - A transient is accused of cooking meth under a railroad bridge.
According to a criminal complaint, on June 21, 42-year-old Kenneth J. Emerson was found with two other people under a railroad bridge in the 2500 block of South Gilbert Street in Iowa City. Emerson and the other subjects were found with a one pot-style meth lab, according to the complaint.
Items collected at the scene were sent to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation lab, which confirmed the evidence was part of a meth lab, according to the complaint.
Police said all of the subjects admitted to being aware meth was being manufactured. Emerson - the only person named in the complaint - has been arrested and faces one count of a controlled substance violation, a Class B felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
