Police: Teen stole guns, sword from Coralville home

CORALVILLE - A Coralville teen is accused of breaking into a residence and stealing weapons from the home.
According to Coralville police criminal complaints, on Oct. 24 around 8:30 p.m., 15-year-old Carter W. Baldwin forced his way into a residence. Once inside, Baldwin stole handguns, shotguns, rifles and a katana-style sword, police said. After investigating the incident, the stolen items were found in Baldwin's home, police said.
Baldwin was arrested and faces charges of unauthorized possession of offensive weapons, second-degree theft and third-degree burglary.
All three offenses are class D felonies. The Gazette identifies juveniles facing felony charges.
