Police search for missing Iowa City man

IOWA CITY - The Iowa City Police Department is searching for a missing man.
According to police, officers responded to Waterworks Prairie Park, 2875 N. Dubuque St., around 8:12 a.m. Monday for a report of a possible suicidal subject. Police said 45-year-old Jeffery A. Sterba was last seen leaving a vehicle at Waterworks Prairie Park. Sterba had previously made comments about killing himself, police said.
Officers, including a K-9, search that area for Sterba. The Iowa City Fire Department also deployed a water craft to search the river and riverbank. Police said Sterba was not located.
Anyone with information on Sterba's whereabouts is asked to call the police department at 356-6800.
