CEDAR RAPIDS - A woman and man who were injured during an incident Saturday night at a northeast Cedar Rapids apartment complex remain hospitalized, authorities said Monday.
Cedar Rapids public safety spokesman Greg Buelow said a 28-year-old woman was shot and a 42-year-old man suffered a traumatic injury in what is being described as a 'domestic situation.” The incident remains under investigation.
Officers were called to 515 Ashton Place NE at 8:26 p.m. Saturday for a report of a disturbance. Police received multiple calls about the incident, including reports of an active shooter and conflicting accounts on the number of victims. A large number of officers responded to the scene.
Ultimately, police believe only two people are involved. Buelow said Monday the man was found in another apartment unit.
