Police: Marion shooting stemmed from ‘road rage’

MARION - The Marion Police Department has finished its investigation into a shooting near the public library and has sent the case to the Linn County Attorney's Office.
'The report is being sent to the Linn County Attorney's Office for review and possible charges,” a Friday news release from the police department reads.
Police responded to a report of a shooting near the library, 1095 Sixth Ave., around 11:55 p.m. June 22. Police located a man there suffering from a gunshot wound. Police have said little about the shooting, but on Friday announced the incident 'stemmed from a road rage situation.”
Police said they will release more information after the county attorney's office has reviewed the case. They emphasized that there is no danger to the public.
