Police: Feed truck crash on Highway 30 in Cedar Rapids could attract wildlife

CEDAR RAPIDS - Authorities are warning that a stretch of Highway 30 could see more wildlife in the coming days after a truck carrying horse feed crashed Wednesday morning.
Cedar Rapids public safety spokesman Greg Buelow said police and firefighters responded to a single-vehicle crash with injuries on Highway 30 at 10:09 a.m. Wednesday. Buelow said a truck carrying horse feed rolled over into the median on Highway 30 between Edgewood Road and Williams Boulevard SW.
The driver of the truck suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Mercy Medical Center for treatment.
Buelow said the truck spilled a large amount of the feed into the median. While a salvage company is coming to clean up the feed, Buelow said some will be left behind that could attract deer and other wildlife. Drivers are advised to use extra caution when driving through that area.
