CEDAR RAPIDS - Two Cedar Rapids men armed with bats and bricks smashed their way into a Cedar Rapids home Sunday and assaulted people inside, the Linn County Attorney's Office says.
David W. Browning Jr., 19, and Edward C. Cook, 24, used landscaping bricks to smash the windows of an 18th Street NE home and force their way inside, according to court documents, and were joined by 'several accomplices.”
The men used bats and other weapons to assault and injure the home's occupants, police said.
Browning and Cook both have been charged with first-degree burglary, a Class B felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
