One dead after Cedar Rapids motorcycle crash Friday morning

CEDAR RAPIDS - Cedar Rapids police are investigating the death of a motorcyclist after a Friday morning crash.
According to a department news release, officers were called to E Avenue and 27th Street NE at 4:47 a.m. for a report of a motorcycle crash. A witness reported the driver of the motorcycle was not moving.
Responding officers found the motorcycle driver - an adult man - dead at the scene. His name is not being released at this time and the single-vehicle crash remains under investigation.
Police have closed the 600 block of 27th Street NE at this time.
