NORTH LIBERTY - A long-serving volunteer firefighter has been inducted into North Liberty's Hall of Fame.
Dave Hubler, who has served with the North Liberty Fire Department for 24 years, was inducted into the city's Hall of Fame Thursday night. Hubler, who also has been the department's chief, responds to roughly 40 percent of the department's approximately 1,000 calls each year.
The annual honor recognizes those who have 'demonstrated commitment and sacrifice in service to the North Liberty community,” according to a city news release. Previous inductees are Heartland Express founder and philanthropist Russ Gerdin, former mayor Tom Salm and Natalie Wilkerson, who helped to found the North Liberty Community Pantry.
