Names released in fatal Highway 13 crash

CEDAR RAPIDS - Authorities have release the name of a 19-year-old woman killed in a crash on Thursday.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office said 19-year-old Justine M. Bonner, of Cedar Rapids, was the driver of a vehicle that crashed on Highway 13 on Thursday afternoon. Bonner was killed in the crash; her passenger, 18-year-old Rodney C. Dennis, Jr., also of Cedar Rapids, was not injured.

Authorities said Bonner was northbound on Highway 13 around 2:38 p.m. when she lost control of the vehicle and crossed the median. The vehicle rolled and came to rest on its top in the southbound lanes of Highway 13. The crash occurred at 1329 Highway 13.

Bonner was pronounced dead at the scene. She and Dennis were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash, the sheriff's office said.

The crash remains under investigation.
