Names released in Benton County fatal crash

BENTON COUNTY — A Cedar Rapids resident and Coralville resident were among those killed in the Feb. 4 crash in Benton County.
The Iowa State Patrol has identified the people killed in the crash as 30-year-old Platini Namputu Ndongala, 30, of Beardstown, Ill.; Ndickson Nzazi Mandiki, 36 of Coralville; and Michka Kadiocha Kabeya, 34 of Cedar Rapids. All three were passengers in a Sienna minivan driven 38-year-old Kwally Massa Manie of Cedar Rapids.
Manie was westbound on Highway 30 around 5:20 a.m. when the minivan slid on the icy road and collided with an eastbound Toyota Corolla driven by 48-year-old Maria Magdalena Castro of Cedar Rapids. The collision caused the minivan to roll. It was then hit by a Saturn Vue driven by 41-year-old Jean Kushadi Kuila of Beardstown, Ill. The Corolla was hit by an eastbound Chevrolet Impala driven by 27-year-old Thomas J. McFarlane.
Manie, Castro and Kuila were all injured in the crash, as were Guy Mbo, 30; Mireille Mbambi, 34; Nancy Lusemo, 32; Serge Baketla, 38; and 30-year-old Wilande Exuma.
