Motorcycle driver suffers serious injuries in collision with car

CEDAR RAPIDS - A motorcycle driver was seriously injured when he collided with a car Friday morning.
Linn County Sheriff Brian Gardner said the collision happened around 8:43 a.m. on East Post Road. The driver of the motorcycle was southbound on Post Road when a northbound car turned left in front of the motorcycle onto a private road north of Cottage Grove Avenue.
Gardner said the motorcycle driver was taken from the scene via ambulance and later airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. The car's driver was not injured.
The names of those involved in the crash have not yet been released.
