U.S. Marshals nabbed a man wanted on an escape charge in Cedar Rapids on Wednesday.
According to the U.S. Marshals' Office, members of the Northern Iowa Fugitive Task Force were doing an interview for an unrelated investigation at a home in the 1200 block of 12th Street NE in Cedar Rapids when 22-year-old Marvin Hicks, a Linn County resident, tried to jump out of a window at the back of the residence.
With help from the Cedar Rapids Police Department, task force members were able to arrest Hicks and take him to the Linn County Jail.
Nicholas Bonifazi, public information officer with the U.S. Marshals in Cedar Rapids, said Hicks was finishing out a sentence for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute at the Lary Nelson Center in Cedar Rapids when he walked away from the center in May 2014.
