Man hurt after falling from Iowa City Pedestrian Mall light pole

IOWA CITY - A man was taken to a hospital for injuries he suffered early Thursday after celebrating the Chicago Cubs' World Series win.
A video posted to social media appears to depict a man climbing a light pole in the downtown Pedestrian Mall. The light breaks and the man falls to the pavement.
Iowa City Police Sgt. Scott Gaarde said officers were on foot patrol at the time and heard a commotion around 12:07 a.m. Thursday.
'They were able to get there fairly quickly,” he said.
The man was taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for treatment.
