Man drives car into house, arrested for driving under the influence

IOWA CITY — An Iowa City man was arrested for driving under the influence Sunday after the vehicle he was driving hit a house.
According to Iowa City police criminal complaints, Paul M. Warner, 29, was involved in a single-vehicle crash around 9:30 p.m. Sunday at 220 S. Van Buren St. Police said Warner drove his car into a house.
Warner failed on field sobriety tests and submitted a preliminary breath test, which showed a blood alcohol content of .00 percent. A drug recognition expert determined Warner was under the influence of drugs and could not safely drive, however.
Warner was arrested and faces one count of operating while intoxicated, a serious misdemeanor.
