Longtime Iowa City police sergeant Krei retires

IOWA CITY - The Iowa City Police Department has announced a retirement and a promotion.
Iowa City Police Sgt. Brian Krei, a 35-year veteran of the department, retired on Tuesday. The department promoted Jeff Fink to sergeant to replace Krei.
Krei's career in Iowa City began in 1982. He was promoted to sergeant in 1999 and served on the patrol division and in records as the department's public information officer.
Fink was hired in 1999 and has served as both an investigator and patrol officer. He is a member of the department's Crisis Negotiation Team and served as a Field Training Officer. Fink has master's degrees in law enforcement and justice administration from Western Illinois University and Spanish linguistics from the University of Iowa.
