Linn County Sheriff’s Office looking for missing work release inmate

CEDAR RAPIDS - The Linn County Sheriff's Office is looking for a work release inmate who did not return to the Linn County Jail when required.

According to the sheriff's office, 43-year-old Timothy L. McGhee, Jr. was serving a 30-day sentence for contempt of court on an existing felony case. McGhee was released from custody Tuesday at 11 p.m. at part of a court-ordered work release program. He was supposed to return at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, but failed to do so.

McGhee is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 250 pounds. He was last seen wearing bluejeans, black tennis shoes, a dark colored sweat shirt, a white T-shirt and a tan baseball cap.

Anyone with information on McGhee's whereabouts is asked to call the sheriff's office or Cedar Rapids Police Department.
