Linn County inmate wanted after walking off from Mercy Medical Center

CEDAR RAPIDS - A Linn County Jail inmate walked away from Mercy Medical Center Monday morning, according to the sheriff's office.
According to the Linn County Sheriff's Office, 25-year-old Derek James Kacher, who is awaiting trial for probation revocation and driving while revoked, was taken to Mercy on Sunday to be treated for a medical issue. Deputies placed a detainer on him for his time at the hospital.
Authorities said they were notified around 10:37 a.m. Monday that Kacher had walked away from the hospital.
Kacher is 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds, according to the sheriff's office. He was last seen wearing orange jail pants and a beige patient gown.
