Nov. 7, 2016 8:14 am
IOWA CITY - A Johnson County Jail inmate suffered a broken jaw after a dispute over the television.
According to the Johnson County Sheriff's Office, around 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 3, deputies responded to a fight within the jail. When deputies entered the cell block where the fight occurred, 20-year-old Raekwan D. Shack was yelling at the victim and ordered to lockdown. Shack refused and was removed from the block, deputies said.
The victim told deputies that Shack punched him from behind because of an agreement over the television. The victim was taken to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and treated for a fractured jaw.
Shack, who is in custody on charged related to an armed robbery in August, now faces an additional charge of assault causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor.
