IOWA CITY - Tuesday's shooting inside an Iowa City apartment complex was over a card game, police said.
According to an Iowa City police criminal complaint, officers were called to a unit inside 1946 Broadway Street around 2:37 a.m. Tuesday for a report of an armed subject who had shot at someone inside. Police spoke with the female victim who reported that during a card game, 28-year-old Diamond S. Wilson accused her of cheating. An argument ensued and Wilson pulled what was described as a small revolver. Police said Wilson pointed it at the woman and fired a single shot. He then fled the apartment.
Police said a bullet hole was found in the kitchen floor near where the victim had been standing.
A search for Wilson ensued, who police described as armed and dangerous. He was arrested by Cedar Rapids police at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Cedarwood Hills Apartments, 2010 Glass Road NE.
Wilson faces one count of intimidation with a dangerous weapon, a Class C felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
