Iowa City police investigating slashed tires

IOWA CITY - Iowa City police said they've seen a rash of slashed tires this week.
According to a department news release, officers have responded to more than 20 incidents of slashed tires on recent nights. Many of those incidents have occurred in the area of Miami Drive, Nevada Avenue and Union Road in the southeast portion of the city.
Police said while they are receiving calls during the day, most of the incidents are occurring at night. Police do not have any witnesses or suspects, but have increased patrols in the area.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact them at (319) 356-6800. Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest in the case. Anyone with information can contact CrimeStoppers at (319) 358-8477.
