IOWA CITY - Iowa City police are investigating the robbery of a pizza delivery man.
Officers responded to a report of a robbery at the Town and Campus Apartments, 1100 Arthur St., at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday. The victim told police he was about to deliver a pizza to a unit in the apartment complex when he was approached by a man wielding a small, black pistol.
Police said the man did not point the gun at the victim, but ordered him not to knock on the apartment door and to leave the pizza. The delivery man did as instructed and the alleged robber took the pizza and fled on foot.
The suspect is described as being 6 feet to 6 feet 4 inches tall, with some facial hair on his chin. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with a red stripe on the sleeves, police said.
