Iowa City Police Association to sponsor juvenile court trip

May. 4, 2017 4:14 pm
IOWA CITY - The Iowa City Police Association plans to provide transportation for the Juvenile Court Liaison program's trip to Six Flags next month.
Community Outreach Assistant Henri Harper said 24 students who were part of the Juvenile Court Liaison program and four chaperones will go to Six Flags in St. Louis for the program's annual end of the school year trip on June 3. Students have to buy their own park tickets, but the Iowa City Police Association is providing two passenger vans for the trip.
According to a police department news release, the Juvenile Court Liaison program strives to help students involved in the juvenile court system reduce delinquency and out-of-home placements and maximize their educational opportunities.
