IOWA CITY - Iowa City police have made an arrest in a July 2014 robbery.
Iviontae C. Jackson, 21, address unknown, has been charged with first-degree robbery, according to a criminal complaint.
According to police, on July 31, Jackson and a co-defendant, 19-year-old Daquan Jefferson, entered an apartment at 1100 Arthur St. and confronted the male victim in a bedroom. Police said Jackson hit the victim on the head with a gun, causing him to bleed. The man was also punched several times in the face.
Police said Jackson and Jefferson both pointed guns at the victim, told him to 'give it up” and went through his pockets. The men stole approximately $120 cash and cigarettes from the victim, police said.
Jackson also allegedly pushed a female victim onto her young child, injuring the child's leg. Jackson fought with the female victim as well.
Police said an associate of Jackson's identified him by his nickname. The male victim also identified Jackson as his assailant in a photo lineup.
Sgt. Scott Gaarde said Jefferson - who also goes by Cutthroat - was arrested in August. According to online court records, Jefferson has entered a guilty plea in the case and is scheduled to be sentenced on March 23.
First-degree robbery is a Class B felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
