IOWA CITY - An Iowa City man accused of calling someone he was banned from contacting more than 900 times from jail was back at it again after appearing in court, police said.
On May 24, Isidore Nagueza, 20, was charged with 14 counts of violating a no-contact order for allegedly calling a woman more than 900 times while he was an inmate at the Johnson County Jail, including 126 times after he was sentenced for assault causing bodily injury. According to Iowa City police criminal complaints, after making an initial court appearance on those charges, Nagueza immediately began calling the victim again.
Capt. Bill Deatsch, administrator for the Johnson County Jail, told The Gazette last week Nagueza was blocked from calling the victim using the jail's phone system; however, police said Nagueza made more calls using a 'separate, unknown phone number.”
Police said Nagueza called the protected party 20 times on May 24 and May 26.
In addition to his 14 prior counts for violating the no-contact order, Nagueza now faces two more counts of no-contact order violations.
