IOWA CITY - An Iowa City man faces multiple charges after allegedly threatening a woman with a revolver.
According to Iowa City police criminal complaints, around 8:40 a.m. Sept. 30, Manuel J. Reyes, 26, got into an argument with a woman at Reyes' home on Arabian Court in Iowa City.
The woman told police Reyes hit her twice and he also pulled a black revolver out during the argument. Witnesses and the woman told officers Reyes pointed the gun at the woman during the argument, causing her to fear for her life.
When police responded to the residence, they found the revolver under Reyes' shed, according to the complaint. A check on the gun's serial number showed it was reported stolen in Illinois last year. Reyes also does not have a permit to carry, police said.
Reyes faces charges of trafficking a stolen weapon used in a crime and child endangerment causing serious injury, both felonies; domestic abuse while displaying a weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor; carrying weapons, an aggravated misdemeanor; and domestic assault, a simple misdemeanor.
