Jun. 17, 2016 10:25 am
IOWA CITY - An Iowa City man is accused of selling a gun stolen a year ago.
According to Iowa City police criminal complaints, officers served a search warrant at 2502 Bradford Drive in February 2016. During a search of the residence, police found a firearm that was determined to have been stolen in September 2015.
Police said the resident - who is not named in the criminal complaint - is a known associate of 20-year-old Arturio D. Henderson. The associate told police they had purchased the gun from Henderson for $100, despite knowing it was stolen. Police also discovered a text message exchange showing Henderson and the associate negotiating over the price of the gun.
Henderson has been arrested and faces one count of trafficking in stolen weapons, a Class D felony punishable by up to five years in prison.
