IOWA CITY - Iowa City Animal Services is looking for a dog who bit a woman last week.
Authorities said the victim was walking in the area of Sheridan Avenue and Roosevelt Street around 3:30 p.m. Friday. The victim passed another woman who was walking a dog, described as a black and brown German Shepherd. Police said the dog lunged at the woman and bit her in the arm and ribs.
The dog's owner told the victim that her dog was current on its rabies vaccination, but Animal Services still needs information on the vaccination.
The woman with the dog is described as middle-aged with shoulder-length brunette hair.
Anyone with information about the dog or its owner is asked to call the Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Center at 356-5295, ext. 7 or the Iowa City Police Department at 356-5275.
