CEDAR RAPIDS — Over the past six years, the Linn County Sheriff's Office has had eight hiring periods, but none has resulted in adding a black deputy to the force.
It's not for a lack of trying, according to Sheriff Brian Gardner.
Using data from those eight hiring periods, Gardner broke down the hiring process.
