Hiawatha man accused of impregnating minor

CEDAR RAPIDS — A Hiawatha man is accused of impregnating his then-girlfriend's underage daughter.
According to the Linn County Attorney's Office, the alleged victim told police that in November 2014, Phillip J. Fear, now 36, engaged in a sex act with her. Authorities said the victim was 14 years old at the time.
The girl became pregnant and after the child was born, a DNA test confirmed Fear is the father, authorities said.
Fear has been arrested and faces one count of third-degree sexual abuse, a Class C felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
