Fire reported in Atkins on Monday

ATKINS - Seven fire departments battled a house fire in Atkins on Monday.
According to a news release, the Atkins Fire Department was called to a house fire at 3389 70th St. at 1:05 p.m. Responding firefighters encountered fire showing from the front of the residence and heavy smoke. The fire was put out using interior and exterior attacks.
Authorities said no one was home at the time of the fire, the cause of which is under investigation.
The Shellsburg, Palo, Fairfax, Newhall, Norway and Hiawatha fire departments also responded to the scene, as did Area Ambulance and the Benton County Sheriff's Office.
