Drug Take-Back event nets 562 pounds of unwanted medications for Linn County Sheriff’s Office

CEDAR RAPIDS - The Linn County Sheriff's Office collected more than 500 pounds of unwanted or expired medications as part of Saturday's nationwide drug Take-Back event.
According to the sheriff's office, 562 pounds of medications were dropped off at collection sites at the sheriff's office, Fairfax Fire Department and Alburnett Fire Department.
The collected medications will be surrendered to the Drug Enforcement Agency, which coordinates the take-back event, for disposal.
