Driver in fatal Interstate 80 crash identified as Neil R. Bell

WEST BRANCH - The Iowa State Patrol has identified the Coralville man killed in a single-vehicle crash Sunday night.
Authorities said Neil R. Bell, 73, was driving westbound on Interstate 80 near the 256 mile marker around 7:16 p.m. when he entered the median and hit a bridge support. Bell was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, the state patrol said. The vehicle - a 2012 Dodge Journey SUV - caught fire after the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the state patrol.
