Driver in Ely crash charged with drunken driving

ELY - A Solon woman involved in a crash in Ely Monday has been charged with drunken driving.
The Linn County Sheriff's Office said Merrilee Ramsey, 63, had been driving south on State Street through Ely when she lost control and hit a truck driven by Roger McDowell, 63, of Ely. Authorities said Ramsey's vehicle then hit a utility pole.
According to a criminal complaint filed Tuesday, deputies at the scene suspected Ramsey was intoxicated. During testing at the Linn County Jail, Ramsey's blood alcohol content was determined to be .187 percent, authorities said.
Ramsey has been released on her own recognizance from the Linn County Jail.
