Coralville police find meth, syringes in van

CORALVILLE - A syringe containing meth was among drug paraphernalia found by police in a van on Monday.
According to Coralville police criminal complaints, an officer spotted 48-year-old Steven P. Wright pull into the Western Hills Mobile Home Court, 3701 Second St., around 11:10 a.m. Monday. Wright was known to have a revoked license and an officer made contact with Wright and his passenger, 34-year-old Tracy J. Turner.
Police searched Wright's van and discovered a loaded syringe containing a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine. Officers also recovered a small amount of suspected meth residue, marijuana, pipes and dugouts, police said. Turner's purse also had a syringe containing a trace amount of a brown substance.
Wright faces charges of possession of a controlled substance - third or subsequent offense, possession of a controlled substance, driving while revoked and possession of drug paraphernalia. Turner faces two counts of possession of a controlled substance - third or subsequent offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.
