Coralville man accused of breaking into grandparents’ home, stealing car

CORALVILLE - A Coralville man is accused of breaking into his grandparents' home and stealing their vehicle.
According to Coralville police criminal complaints, 24-year-old Ryan A. Meadows admitted to breaking into his grandparents' home through a back deck door on January 24 at 10 p.m. Police said Meadows then went into the couple's garage and stole their 2011 Honda Fit. The vehicle is valued at over $10,000.
Meadows now faces charges of first-degree theft, a Class C felony, and third-degree burglary, a Class D felony. If convicted of both offenses, Meadows could spend up to 15 years in prison.
