Coralville man accused of assaulting another man, and threatening with a knife

CORALVILLE - A Coralville man is accused of assaulting another man over his parking.

According to a Coralville police criminal complaint, 34-year-old Abakr M.M. Amin went to the victim's door at 2551 Holiday Road to confront him about his parking. The men live at the same address, according to the criminal complaint.

Police said Amin 'punched and kicked at” the other man, making contact at least once. After the altercation, Amin allegedly grabbed a knife and threatened to kill the other man, police said. When the other man called 911, Amin put the knife in a kitchen drawer.

Officers responded and Amin was arrested on one count of assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by up to two years in prison.
