Columbus Junction man accused of critically injuring infant daughter

COLUMBUS JUNCTION - A Columbus Junction man faces up to 50 years in prison for allegedly severely abusing his own daughter.
According to the Iowa Department of Public Safety, on Jan. 19, the Columbus Junction Police Department learned about a four-month-old girl that had been injured. The child was taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics where she is being treated for severe head trauma. She remains in critical condition, according to the Department of Public Safety.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation was called in to assist in the investigation and, on Jan. 20, served a search warrant at the home of Oscar Jimenez, the girl's father. On Tuesday night, Jimenez was arrest on one count of multiple acts of child endangerment, a Class B felony.
In addition to the Division of Criminal Investigation and Columbus Junction police, the case was investigated by the Louisa County Sheriff's Office, Department of Human Services, Louisa County Attorney's Office, and the Iowa Attorney General's Office.
Oscar Jimenez
