Chicago murder suspect arrested in Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS - A Chicago man wanted for murder there was arrested in Cedar Rapids Monday morning.
According to the U.S. Marshals Service, authorities arrested 37-year-old Derrick 'Nelson” Wells at a residence in Cedar Rapids. He had been wanted for a September shooting outside of a night club that left a 28-year-old woman dead. According to the Chicago media outlets, 28-year-old Claudia Mister was killed on Sept. 3 in Morgan Park.
After Chicago authorities identified Wells as a suspect, the U.S. Marshals Service Northern Iowa Fugitive Task Force was tapped for assistance.
Task force members tracked Wells down to a residence near the 1800 block of Fifth Avenue SE. He was identified through surveillance efforts and taken into custody without incident, according to the Marshals Service. Wells was taken to the Linn County Jail, where he awaits extradition to Illinois.
