CEDAR RAPIDS - Schools in the Cedar Rapids Community School District are closed through Friday.
Students are to return to class on Monday, Oct. 3, and buses are to run as normally as possible, officials announced Tuesday.
This Monday's scheduled staff learning day, which would have kept students out of school, has been rescheduled.
District offices, which have been closed since Monday, are to be open Thursday and Friday.
The school year also has been extended by one day, to June 2.
Schools have been closed all this week due to concerns over flooding in Cedar Rapids. District officials said a main concern was the ability to bus students to their schools given the numerous road closures.
Xavier and Metro Catholic Schools, except St. Joseph in Marion, are also canceled for the rest of the week and will resume Oct. 3.
