Lots of grandparents have a way of making their grandkids feel special.
“We have the best Deda and Grammy!” Briella and Wyatt, of Cedar Rapids, told The Kids Gazette. “Deda plays the best games and Grammy reads the best books. We love you!”
For National Grandparents Day on September 11, do something to make your grandparents — or other important older people in your life — feel special, too.

Send them a personalized note like Briella and Wyatt, or try one of these ideas from Generations United:
- Tell stories about memories you have together and with other family members, or look through old photo albums together
- Make an old family recipe together — try to find out the secret ingredient!
- Have a family game night, in-person or virtually
- Take a walk together around their neighborhood or favorite place in town
- Write them a letter or make them a card
