Cedar Rapids Police Department has annual awards ceremony

CEDAR RAPIDS - Dozens of Cedar Rapids Police Department personnel were recognized during the department's annual awards ceremony on Thursday.
The following officers were given the Class B Commendation of Heroism or Life Saving, which recognizes an arrest where the officer's safety is in imminent danger or for an act of outstanding courage:

Jacob Briley was named Recruit Officer of the Year. Scott Fruehling was named Reserve Officer of the Year. Benjamin Wery was named Officer of the Year.
