CEDAR RAPIDS - Four people were arrested Friday afternoon after a pursuit and a false report of a robbery.
Around 12:45 p.m. Friday, police were called to the 4400 block of First Avenue NE for a report of a robbery involving a gun. Officers located a suspect vehicle driving away from the area and attempted to pull the vehicle over.
However, police said the driver fled and a pursuit continued into the south east quadrant of Cedar Rapids. There, the passenger, later identified as 30-year-old Nevin Baker, fled on foot. The driver, 21-year-old Elijah Loney, drove away. Police were able to apprehend both men.
Baker was arrested on one count of interference with official acts. Loney faces charges of eluding, speeding and four counts of disobedience to a traffic control device.
Police determined during their investigation that the people who reported the robbery, Zachary Beguhn and Camille Kapayou, both 21, had given false information to the officers about the alleged robbery. They were both arrested on charges of making false reports.
