Cedar Rapids man leads police on chase in stolen truck

CEDAR RAPIDS - A Cedar Rapids man faces multiple charges after leading police on a chase in a stolen truck.
According to a Linn County Attorney's Office criminal complaint, on Wednesday, 35-year-old Douglas D. Bramow stole a truck belonging to the Porter Moving Company. When police attempted to stop Bramow, he fled in the stolen pickup with speeds while exceeding the speed limit by more than 25 mph, authorities said.
When police arrested Bramow around 11:30 p.m. in the area of Veterans Memorial Drive and 11th Avenue SW, he was found to have marijuana and a pipe used to smoke marijuana on him. Bramow has two previous convictions in Linn County for possession of a controlled substance.
Bramow has been charged with second-degree theft, eluding, possession of a controlled substance, interference with official acts and possession of drug paraphernalia.
