Cedar Rapids man found unconscious in car, faces weapons trafficking charge

CEDAR RAPIDS - A Cedar Rapids man faces charges after being found with a stolen weapon.
According to the Linn County Attorney's Office, deputies with the Linn County Sheriff's Office were called to the Iowa Lottery building, 2345 Blairs Ferry Road NE, Tuesday morning for a report of a suspicious vehicle blocking the entrance. There, deputies found 32-year-old Derek Hines and another occupant unconscious in the vehicle.
Deputies woke up Hines and found a stolen 9 mm handgun and a drug pipe on him. Hines was arrested and has been charged with trafficking stolen weapons and possession of drug paraphernalia.
